USA - Roadtrip through it’s vast Southwest
(Video coming soon - hopefully)
It took us one month and 6500 Km and four states to enjoy a part of the stunning Southwest of the United States. Using LA as our gateway, we quickly made our way south to San Diego. There, off the coast of Tijuana Mexico, we were able to see the largest mammal to have ever lived: The Blue Whale. Further on, we passed through Joshua Tree NP and the hot Mojave Desert, before entering the commercial and gambling hotspot of Las Vegas. After losing some very little money there, we proceeded to the stunning landscapes of Sedona and the Grand Canyon NP. Following the Colorado River upstream we came by the famous Horseshoe Bend, beautiful Marble Canyon and made our way up to the real Americans with their native lands of Monument Valley. Stunned by how beautiful rocks and tenting among them could be, we hiked to and through flooded Zebra Slot Canyon and further traveled to personally underrated Bryce Canyon NP with its amazing rock formations and starry nights. Subsequent, we headed to Zion NP and did the Angels Landing hike. After Zion we made our way to Yosemite NP, completed the infamous 25 Km long hike up to Half Dome’s Peak (1500 Hm) and Glacier Point.
Full of amazing experiences that gave us a perfect taste of US Nationalparks, we continued our travels over Mariposa County to Lake Tahoe and then to the metropolitan Area of San Francisco. From which we then moved our way south along the Pacific Highway Nr. 1 back to LA, whilst seeing Humpback Whales, Sea-Elefants and catching surfs in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica.
Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy the pictures! I am hoping to find time to edit some clips together in the near future.
